Segantini Gottardo (1882 – 1974)

Son of the famous painter Giovanni Segantini, after academic studies between Milan and the atelier of the artist Hermann Gattiker, he settled in the family house in the canton of Grisons. He devoted himself to divisionism painting, in his father’s atelier, revealing in his works their artistic closeness and love for Engadin: the scientific composition of light and color allowed him to create alpine landscapes in which the beauty of nature is brightly expressed. Multifaceted artist, he dealt with the art of engraving and became deeply involved in writing, also creating a biography about his father. Today his works are appreciated by art dealers and international collectors and have been auctioned by the major Auction Houses in the world.
