Description
Wilhelm André (1963)
Born in 1963 in Wetzikon, Switzerland, he grew up in Cham, Canton Zug. He began painting as an autodidact and, in the mid-1980s, he joined the Lucerne punk group “Junge Wilde” (Young Savages).
Wilhelm soon developed a proper style that eluded the categories established in the art market, earning the appellation of “demolition expert in the glass house of art”.
His artworks came from an existential and uncompromising painting, as a result of personal experiences, quotes from various media, raw materials combined to create complex and surprising images.
The artist currently lives and works in the Canton of Zürich.
