Description

Lindström Bengt (1925 – 2008)

Swedish artist, he studied at Stockolm Art School and Copenaghen Fine Art School, then at Art Institute in Chicago and finally in Fernand Léger and André Lohte ateliers. He was influenced by  COBRA art, even if he didn’t completely took part. Lindström works are characterized by a though use of color: large buckets of pure colors are stretched on canvas or frames laid on the floor.
The initiation into shamanism and the Sami culture had a deep effect on his way of conceiving art, helping him to create images of great intensity.
He is currently exhibited in major museum collections, among which the Centre Pompidou in Paris and The Tate Gallery in London.
