“Composizione astratta” and “Tre figure”: Serge Brignoni’s artistic parable
Artrust boasts dozens of works by Brignoni in its collection. Among these “Abstract Composition” and “Three figures” are paradigmatic to understand the artist’s stylistic evolution: the genesis of the first, in 1935, took place in Paris where he fully participated in the surrealist movement, the second one in 1991, result of the work of Brignoni mature and stationed in Bern.
In the nearly 60 years that separate the two works, it is possible to understand the artistic path taken by the artist: from abstractism to figurativism. A journey that allows to appreciate and understand the work of one of the greatest Swiss artists of the twentieth century.
