Description

Medium/large sized Russian kovsh, forged in silver in the Moscow region. The piece is completely smooth with a flat bottom and a large diameter. The handle is finely engraved : sylvan and floreal ornaments enclose a set amethyst with cabochon cut and framed in a beads oval. The model has a unique and elongated lozenge-shape, softened by sinouos and soft edges. Hallmarks in Cyrillic place the kwosch between XIX and XX centuries, revealing the identity of the master silversmiths Ivan Lebedkin and Karl Fabergé.

Hallmarks

Hallmark kokoshnik « 84 with woman’s face » oriented to the left, ist 1896. The hallmark presents the Cyirillic initials of master silversmith Ivan Lebedkin, active from 1899 in Moscow.
