Sane2 (France, 1976-)
Already as a child, Sane2 shows remarkable drawing skills. During the 1990s he makes his acquaintance with Hip Hop culture and its artistic expression, the graffiti. He is deeply fascinated by them, both for their subversive elements and for the new means of creativity available. After an intense period of graphic experimentation, he settles on painting in 1998. In 2000, together with two colleagues, he founds the association AERO that soon becomes a point of reference for the young exponents of the movement, thanks to several spray painting workshops, meetings and events. His artistic personality is in constant evolution and in search of new symbols and perspectives; over the latest decade he’s been experimenting with stencil and has devoted himself to the art of tattoos. Thanks to the versatile nature of his production, Sane2 opens up to ongoing collaborations with private individuals and companies around the world. The main features of his works are figurative images next to lettering, in an explosion of colours and contrasts.
