Art in food: Andreas Caminada

“I think an artist is anybody who does something well, like if you cook well”, once said Andy Warhol.

Andreas Caminada, young three Michelin starred Swiss chef, is indeed an artist.

In the heart of the Grisons region, more precisely in Fürstenau, there is a wonderful eighteenth-century castle, the Schloss Schauenstein, with only six exclusive rooms and a restaurant offering extremely creative dishes. Caminada is able to combine tradition and modernity by offering refined dishes full of contrasting flavors: hot and cold, sweet and salty, mousses and strong dishes. Its cuisine is balanced and harmonious, where each dish is served with precision and elegance, and sometimes in unexpected ways; the six amuse bouche SPLENDUR, born from the collaboration with the master of the lights Peter Diem, for example, are an immersive experience not only in taste but also under the visual side: the sophisticated dishes are in fact served on an i-Pad on which every light is carefully designed to give the food a suggestive brightness. The final culinary result is amazing, a state of the art sensory blend.

Creativity, surprise, sophistication and exclusivity: Andy Warhol was right!
