Liner: the success of an opening event in the name of colors
Nearly one hundred guests, including friends, art lovers and personalities from the art world, took part in the inauguration of the exhibition that Artrust dedicated to Carl Walter Liner. A large and unexpected participation successful not only for the works of the Swiss painter, whose appreciation was unanimous, but also for the innovative setting characterized by strong colors and alternative ways to visit the exhibition.
During his speech Roland Scotti, curator at the Kunstmuseum Appenzell, who has collaborated for the catalog realization, confirmed how the setting was appropriate, able to emphasize the centrality of color in all the work of Liner. “Carl Walter Liner, despite his father’s training, has never been, and perhaps never felt a draughtsman: he has always been a colorist. Even in the few pictures of him at work, we note that he loved to surround himself with colors, from the green of Appenzell nature to the colors of his own paintings in his studio. Liner used color first as a source of emotional inspiration, and then as a tool and a form of artistic expression. “
“It is interesting to note that – said Scotti – proposing nowadays a method of interpretation of Liner works in a chromo therapeutic key, takes us back to the very genesis of those works. Science recognizes the influence of color on our moods, confirming what art has always taught even at the emotional level. “
Colors, the protagonists of theabstract worksofLiner, and landscapes, representedin hisvast production, were the focus themes ofthe whole event.Evenfor originalcocktail prolongéthatclosed the event: morethan just atasting, it wasagastronomic journeyin art andplaces ofCarlWalterLiner’s life.
Particularly evocative was the passage in the Arvi’s cellars, where, enhanced by the picturesque setting and a special “soundtrack”, some Liner’s paintings dedicated to his homeland, Appenzell have been placed.
